Town of Greenwich CT Zoning Regulations for Retail Stores | The ...

The Town of Greenwich manages zoning regulations for retail stores within the Central Greenwich Business Retail Zoning District.

The goal of the district is to protect ground-floor space for retail and to maintain storefront continuity. In other words, the regulations aim to prevent vacant storefronts and quickly fill locations that go out of business. Additionally, it seeks to provide housing above stores.

To achieve these objectives, Use Group 1 ? Retail Uses is limited to the Ground and Second floors only. Floors below grade can be used if the space does not exceed two floors and it is specified for retail use.

In addition, the town also has specific zoning requirements for retail spaces, so applicable parties should consult the zoning ordinance in retail planning and design.
