Never been a GM before

Ok, so im new to this site although not to role playing (i have been role playing since i was seven. )

First of all, i really hoped i used GM for the right meaning. I meant i've never actually created a roleplay with tabs before. Of course i have made role plays on different sites that dont give me such elaborate functions. (Pretty much simple play by post roleplays)

I was wondering if it would be too early for me to create a roleplay as i really want to make a ghost hunters one, seeing as im a newbie?

Also, any help on making a successful roleplay would also be appreciated.
